Large off-shore wind farms in the power system. Voltage quality and power dynamics. Pre-project on measuring techniques
The project will contribute to the basis for connecting large wind farms to power transmission grids regarding voltage quality and power system stability.
Project description
The project comprises the development of PC-based measuring units to be connected to more wind turbines. The units will be mutually synchronised and sample various electrical signals as well as wind at a high rate. Sampled sequences will form basis for off-line computer simulations of the impact + of several wind turbines on grids of various strength regarding e.g. harmonics, unbalances and, in particular, flicker. A superposition law for flicker contributions from closely situated wind turbines will be demonstrated
