Rules for funding

The general terms and conditions for funding from the EUDP are compiled in the “Rules for funding from the EUDP”. This document includes information about the rules on supervision, eligible costs, financial statements and auditing of activities that receive funding.

The project agreement between the project consortium and the EUDP will state which version of the rules for funding apply for the specific project.

EUDP rules

The relevant version of the rules depends on when the specific project received a commitment of funding.

The most important changes in the latest EUDP rules dated 23 March 2015 are:

  • Revenues from commercially applicable prototypes and demo-plant are not to be deducted from the eligible project budget. However, the EUDP funding commitment may still take account of the prospect of significant revenues from prototypes and demo-plant.
  • It has been specified what guidelines apply for co-financing from the EUDP and from other aid schemes, including EU programmes.
  • In specific projects, the EUDP can approve that an undertaking is both a project participant and a sub-supplier in the same project (this, however, requires prior explicit written authorisation from the EUDP).
  • Total payments exceeding DKK 5 mill. for a single enterprise in connection with a project must be audited and a confirmation that the accounting records reconcile with the requests for payments received by the EUDP must be submitted by the auditor.
  • The limit for when there are requirements for an external audit of the funding from the EUDP has been raised from DKK 100,000 to DKK 250,000.
