Cost reduction of USC-boilers

In the present study project, two different types of plants wihtin the CAD-technology has been elaborated. For both types of plants, high steam data has been chosen corresponding to the level considered realistic for plants, which are commissioned for approx. year 2005.

Results

For plants with double reheaters, possible cost reduction has been found through further investigations and simplification of the heating surface arrangement. For both types of plants savings have also been found through simplification of the boiler firing system etc., as well as through reduction of the total project time of the plant. The total expense reduction for the boiler delivery is therefore approx. 15% for the type of plant with double reheaters and approx. 10% for plants with single reheaters, which is approx. half of the expected savings (20-30%) mentioned in the project description
