PURSUC – Improved utilization of the energy potential in manure
The project concerns a new solution for improved exploitation of the energy potential of manure. This project will develop 1) A highly effective Drying Module, optimizing manure for thermal gasification, and 2) An adapted thermal Gasifier (Sublimator) which runs efficiently on manure input. The result is increased economic viability.
Project description
- The goal is to make a fully integrated system able to:
- Separate the manure
- Dry the manure fiber – This with strongly reduced power consumption
- Use/borrow the surplus of exhaust from the CHP to optimize the final drying.
- Handle the liquid part of the manure
- Sublimate the manure fibre
- Produce a marketable BioChar
- Maximize the use of the produced gas in a CHP system
- In order to reach the goal we need to:
- Develop and establish a Dryer for drying the fiber fraction
- Develop and establish an input system for manure and manure mixing with biomass
- Reprogram the PLC for controlling the whole system
- Make test runs with pure manure fiber and manure fiber mixed with biomass
- Document the findings
