Aces (Across Continents Electric Vehicles Services)

ACES intends to holistically investigate technical and economic system benefits and impacts by large scale electric vehicles' integration on Bornholm, augmented by real usage patterns, grid data and field testing for cross continent replicability.

Project description

The main focus of the ACES project can be summarized as follows:

ACES intends to holistically investigate technical and economic system benefits and impacts by large scale electric vehicles' integration on Bornholm, augmented by real usage patterns, grid data and field testing for acros continent replicability.

A full scale penetration scenario of EVs on Bornholm will be simulated in order to assess how new aggregating functionality can both technically and economically support the successful integration of electric vehicles into the energy system.
It will also initiate a small scale pilot project involving up to 50 publicly and privately owned Nissan vehicles and V2G chargers for proving that EVs can be used to effectively balance the system.

Ultimately it will allow DTU to tighten the collaboration with a strong industrial partner such as Nissan Motor Manufacturing and further exploit the applied research field of EV integration.
