March 4 marked the cut-off date for applying for funding from the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) in the first of two application rounds in 2022. 74 projects applied for a total of DKK 622 mil.
The applied for funding, totalling DKK 622 mil., is more than three times the size of the grant pool. As such, a success rate similar to that of 2021 is to be expected; in 2021, the ratio of applied for funding and funding granted yielded an average success rate of 37 %.
As shown below, most of the round’s applications are placed within the focus areas – defined by EUDP – “More green electricity – and for more purposes”, “Energy efficiency” and “Heavy transport and large-scale Power-to-X”.

Aside from the grant pool of DKK 200 mil., almost DKK 5 mil. is available in the special North Sea Pool. The purpose of this pool is to aid development and demonstration projects related to research that can contribute to a more environmentally friendly and energy efficient production of oil and gas. In particular, the aim is to reduce the environmental footprint of the industry.
The applications received by March 4 will be assessed and nominated to the board of EUDP. The board will decide in June which of the applicants will receive funding for new green energy projects.
