OpenGIS4ET
The OpenGIS4ET-project aims at develping a tool for municipal planners and others with an interest in the sustainable energy transitions for development of consistent energy system scenarios at proportionate effort. The tool will focus on heating/cooling and eMobility as well as sector coupling.
The main objective of the Danish participation in the OpenGIS4ET-project is to contribute to the development (technical part) and demonstration (non-technical part) of the OpenGIS4ET tool. The OpenGIS4ET-tool will improve the possibilities for creating consistent analyses for key sectors of the energy system for geographic regions (e.g. municipalities) at proportinal effort. This objective is addressed through the development and demonstration of a toolbox, in which key sectors of the energy system are evaluated in scenario analyses.
The tool to be developed in OpenGIS4ET will improve and further develop the HotMaps tool and its components, which was developed to TRL7 in the H2020-project HotMaps (2016-20). The improvements and new developments are driven by user needs, which will be concretized through case studies in this project. This project aims at adding needed functionalities to the planning tool and improve the entire tool and all its components to TRL8 by the end of the project.
Danish Project Manager PlanEnergi will be work package (WP) leader (WP6) on the user needs'integration by applying the tool for Danish and German municipalities. Danish Project Partner FlexShape (WP-leader WP5) will be developing a tool for the evaluation of sector coupling and flexibility issues.
