Global Test of SSL Products - IEA-4E-SSL

The project will use the national testfacilities and expertise, established as a part of a global network of testlaboratories, in continuation of IEA-4E-Solid State Lighting Annex. Focus is on deployment of new LED teststandard, lifetime and global/national monitoring of SSL products to benefit initiatives of the Danish Energy Agency and industy.

Project description
The purpose of the project is to actively utilize the national expertise on LED technology and Solid State Lighting (SSL) and the new test facilities, which were established as a part of a global network of test laboratories, in the continued international collaboration under the IEA 4E-SSL Annex. The member countries, including Denmark, have chosen to continue the work, which is still highly relevant in a fast growing global market of SSL products. The aim of the SSL Annex is to assist member govemments in promoting SSL rapidly as an effective means to reduce energy consumption worldwide. In the SSL Annex this will be done through recommendations for performance tiers, evaluation of test methods and test laboratories, SSL product benchmarking, and
new tools for SSL market monitoring and control.
