WABAT - “Workshop Automated BAttery Tester"
The WABAT project develops a Workshop Automated Battery Tester for EV-battery, that doubles as DC fast charger. The test-based battery assessment is performed through the DC-charge plug and does not rely on information from the car producer. Research will compensate the complex analysis algorithms for temperature effects and speed up testing.
The WABAT project develops a Workshop Automated Battery Tester for EV-battery diagnosis based on the unique method from the Batnostic EUDP-project. The diagnosis is performed through the DC-charge plug and are yet the only method for independent battery assessment based on test rather than information from the car producer. For managing the future types of common DC-charge plugs Lithium Balance develops a new integrated Fast Charge Interface (FCI). The new FCI is a core component of the new WABAT tester that Christonic will develop and sell worldwide. The WABAT tester doubles as DC fast charger. Aalborg University and Danish Technological Institute (DTI) defines new methods and algorithms for temperature compensated measurements through focused scientific research. The research will speed up the testing of an EV using the WABAT-tester. The data from the WABAT tester is diagnosed by complex algorithms at a diagnostic server hosted at Danish Technological Institute.
The WABAT tester will be sold to automative workshops around the World. Users are represented by the partners Applus (international car related services) and the FDM, representing 6 sister automotive federations with some 30 mio members.
